Though not normally a topic I would be interested in, I heard Terry Gross interview the author on Fresh Air and was completely enamored by her story - A

This has been on my TBR for forever. It's examines the oppression of women around the world and shows how the empowerment of women helps communities. - A

A marine biologist's fiancé is killed by a giant jellyfish, and she must come to terms with losing her partner to the ocean she loves. This book sits on my desk and stares at me everyday. I WILL read it very soon! - K

I am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education andWas Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai, Christina Lamb (Little, Brown)

I've had this book on my TBR for a few years now, but I've never gotten around to reading it. Then I saw Emma Watson interview Malala and knew I had to bump it up my stack. I can't wait to read about this brave woman. - K
